Facial Scrub
Hello from Denae, for another beauty suggestion. I just purchased a lotion to “remove the dead skin” off my face. I also purchased a small, lufa sponge. These products, have a mild sand like material in them, and with the lufa…you can gentely scrub your face. It removes so much of the old dead skin from the harsh winter, which causes your foundation to look horrible. Nice, new skin. Don’t over-do it, but this is an in-expensive solution instead of…spending $125.00 for a micro abrasion peel.
Getting your skin, fresh..is such an important aspect of looking pretty. If you have large pores, it is a MUST, especially a toner to close the pores. Also, don’t throw out the possibility of using skin care products made for men. This will not bring un-needed attention to your new skin care routine. Men’s toner and moisturizer are actually better, for the male skin, and gives the same after results needed, when you apply makeup. It’s time, to get your face, ready for fun and sun 2008.
Dont forget your sun-screen!

Hello Ladies,
I wanted you to know about a great web site, that Gina Lance started recently….Gina was the previous owner of the beautiful all color magazine called, GirlTalk. It had lovely photos and was in great taste, and was very expensive to produce. Gina, now has put her energy into a fun, informative web site, which is geared for CD’s but TS girls enjoy this site also. I have been writing articles for Gina, and this gal knows her business. Check out her soon to be released book, “Getting Dressed”. You can find her at: http://www.tglife.com

In Your Easter Bonnet ~ Do You Remember That Song?
Easter is here, and the warmer weather has many of us, pulling off those winter fabrics, boots and sweaters! Yes, Easter Day, has been “the rule” in fashion…for bringing out your lighter, brighter clothing and shoes. Of course, this old rule is not written in stone today. However, you can use it as a guide line for seasonal/wardrobe change.
Here are the areas, I change at Easter:
1. I put away my darker hosiery…. such as taupe, coffee-bean, navy, and the “brown” colors….and I switch into lighter hosiery, such as buff, nude, light beige, and suntan. Also, bring out your open toe shoes, and sandals in your lighter shades….white, cream, wheat, etc. And, of course…get a fabulous straw handbag, a fabric bag, or a wheat leather bag. I stay away from all white shoes and all white handbags. A wheat color shoe and bag is always safe, to wear with your lighter spring colors and fabrics.
For “Casual” day wear, switch to a pair of shorter… ”Capri” jeans, in a lighter color. If you have great legs, try light colored mid-thigh jean shorts in light wash blue, beige, white, or even light pastels…such as pink. Or, a lighter color/fabric skirt. Protect your eyes from the sun; eyedoctors now report the sun burns your eyes as much as it burns your skin! And, don’t forget your nails and toe-nails by changing into colors such as a: Coral, Pink, French Tips or my favorite the “American Tip”. Treat yourself to a mani and pedi.
Not ready for a swim suit? Select a long sarong, wrap it around your waist and wear over a swim suit or shorts. A straw hat, sun-glasses, sarong, and light colored nails, toes and lips…and you’re ready to go to the beach, or BBQ or picnic.
As I gaze upon all the new colors blooming this time of year in California; the blooming fruit trees and colorful bulbs coming out of the ground, I am always inspired to ”lighten” up my wardrobe and makeup. I like to pack away those black, brown boots, closed toe shoes, leather shoes, winter sweaters, leather jackets and heavy fabric slacks, skirts, and coats. .
For evening, select a light weight coat, in a lighter color. The new Trench Coats and Rain Coats, are really cute in many colors this year. (I always carry, my winter coat, in the trunk of my car, for those late cold winter nights in San Francisco). But, for day…break out! Try the Sally Hanson Spray for Legs for any “farmers tan”. It washes off immediately in the shower; or if your full time– try a lasting tan gel or spray. A beard thinner, works well for removing SOME of the hair on your arms and legs, if your a CD. Lets don’t forget our face, which endured the winter wind and cold. Select a mild peel, to remove all the winter months of dead, gray skin. And, presto…you’re ready for summer!
Don’t forget your Sun Block! And, get a “higher quality” pair if sun glasses, to protect your eyes from sunburn. Gosh, all this ”fun in the sun” makes me thiristy for a pink margarita!

Best Mascara!
Hello, from Denae. Dear Liz, thank you for asking about which “Mascara” I recommend, for the TG who is not experienced with applying mascara. From all my research, and from what clients tell me, there are two:
MAC has a wonderful mascara!
If, you have really sensitive skin, you MUST only use a line, for “sensitive skin and eyes” such as Almay, or Clinque. IF you have really light, fair skin that burns…you will probably need one of these lines. Now, with your eyes, How you remove your eye makeup is moreimportant. Again, try Clinque if you get, red or swollen eyes. If you get red, itchy swollen eyes, purchase a tube of corizone cream from the drug store, and within 24 hours, your eyes will be back to normal. Please throw out old products, if you could see the “bugs” you would scream. And, this could be causing you to have sensitive eyes.
All my best,
Denae
Getting Your Feet Ready For Summer Shoes!
Hello from Denae.
I wanted to remind you, it’s time to think about your feet, which have been through a hard winter. Sally Hanson, has many tools, for very little investment, which will help you get the dead skin off your heels, and toes. Be careful, and don’t use the tool —which has a shart razor, it is best to purchase the tool, which looks like, your grating cheese!
Soak your feet in a bath or shower, then dry them with a towel and apply lotion to them. Place a towel under your feet. Use your tool, to scrap off the dead skin. You will be shocked at what you find in the towel! It looks like sand, lots of sand. Do, this several times.
Also, clip your toenails, and select a beautiful, spring color. Then, wear some fabulous open toe shoes and feel confident, free, and beautiful!
Have fun in the sun, but remember to wear your sun screen.
Hugs,
Denae
Body Lotion, For Summer…With Wash-Off Glow!
Hello ladies, Denae here for another tip. Today, I was shopping in Walgreens for a great body lotion. My favorite sales lady, who always greets me…with the newest and best products…suggested I try Jergens Lotion with Color and Glow…to give you some “tan” that washes off in the shower. You can “layer” it also, for a deeper color. For you, who are light/fair…and can’t get in the sun…this is a great tip for you.
Also, try….Sally Hansen’s leg spray…on your chest and arms….if you have a “guys” arm and collar tan line. Again, it will wash off in the shower! Or, if you just want a much deeper than, then try these products. They do not turn orange and again…they both wash off, in the shower. And, don’t forget to get a pedicure for those new summer shoes! Here in Santa Cruz, CA….we are right on the beach, and having a fun summer look, is part of…”Fun In The Sun”. All my best,
Denae

Inexpensive Breast Forms
Hello Jennifer, this is Denae. Thank you for your question, regarding…how much to spend on silicon breast forms.
There are many expensive breast forms, for $300.00 up!
However, I suggest the $40.00 a pair Pals with Nipples.
Just Goggle Pals Breast Forms, they look the same and you can actually glue and even cut the form, and Silicon will not be dripping out. Especially, to experiment with different sizes, or for different looks, you can try on a C or D!
Save your money, for a good wig!
Enjoy!

Tall Size Clothing Suggestions, For Spring
Many TG women, have broader shoulders. Here are some suggestions to remember, when you begin your Spring/Summer Shopping. Make adjustments for any padding. However, …broader shoulders… is the key area to work around. Consider these points for wide shoulders.
Broad-shouldered women with proportionally narrow hips and less defined waistlines.
Fabrics
Smooth, tightly woven, small print fabrics on top to minimize shoulders. Have fun experimenting with bold prints, plaids and wools in skirts and slacks.
Necklines
Deep scoop, V-, U- and round necklines that break up your shoulder line and are highly flattering.
A deep V-neckline breaks up a strong shoulder line.
Fitted tops with deep round necklines or shawl collars soften the line of your shoulder. I always suggest my TG women, purchase shawls to wear over your shoulders, and as a light wrap at night. Please get one solid color shawl ladies!!
Jackets & Tops
Keep detail, particularly on jackets, to a minimum; styles that soften the shoulders and slightly flare at the hem add balance.
Lightly gathered neckline adds softness to strong shoulders. The bit of curve in the hem of the jacket adds curves to your shape. No heavy lapel jackets, look for soft feminine jackets!
Mandarin jackets and tops with a simple vertical line banding relieve the strong horizontal line of your shoulders.
Skirts & Dresses
Interesting and beautiful skirts balancing your shoulders with a bit of swing are fun and flattering and look great on TG women. You don’t have to always wear a tight skirt!
Try gathered, sewn or unsewn pleated skirts.
A flared panel skirt balances the shoulders.
A trumpet hem balances out the shoulders nicely and draws the eye to those legs of yours.
Huggy skirts bring out your lower body curves so by all means wear them. You will have to wear your waist cincer to corset however.
Looser sleeves soften the shoulders and add curves to the hips.
Patch hip pockets with flaps and buttons on an A-line skirt add nice “weight” to the lower body.
Pants
Boot-cut slacks nicely balance the shoulders. Ideally they sit on or slightly above the hipbone to enhance the waistline and the flare in the pant leg starts below the knee. This really lengthens the leg.
Pocket details and pleats at the hips are always a good idea.
Pleats on cuffed and full leg trousers flatter slender hips and long legs.
Fly front, bootleg pants with side seam detailing are very flattering.
Pockets & Other Details
Pockets on jackets and slacks around the hip area widen you to balance out your shoulders.
Cuffed, fluted and bell sleeves also add nice fullness to the hips.
Gathered sleeves soften the shoulders.
It is best to try on different styles of clothing, so see what fits your taller frame and wider shoulders. I hope you’re able to try on your clothing, instead of ordering out of a catalog. However, for privacy, if you must order from a catalog…do remember these tips! Also, remember, no bright colors on top, keep them bold/darker.
I hope this helps, the Taller TG woman with her shopping.
