Create “Elvira”s Makeup For Halloween

Halloween is such a fun time. I am going as Elvira this year and while doing my research on her makeup…I found this great web site, which describes exactly how to achieve the Elvira Face.

	1. Apply Elvira base make-up evenly to entire face and chest with a sponge. Apply white powder to set. 2. Apply fuchsia (powder) blush to cheeks, dark maroon (powder) blush beneath cheekbones. Blend in. 3. With a small brush, or eye shadow applicator, apply bright blue powder eye shadow from center of top eyelid to hairline. 4. With a clean brush, apply bright fuchsia powder eye shadow beneath and around entire eye, to hairline. 5. Using a dark purple pencil, apply a thick line just above the eyelid’s natural crease. 6. Darken eyebrows and exaggerate arch with dark brown eyebrow pencil. 7. Apply black mascara to upper lashes. 8. With a fine brush, add a small amount of water to black cake eyeliner and apply above and below eyes as shown. Black eyeliner will cover almost the entire top lid. 9. Fill in space at inner corner of eye with white pencil. 10. With black eyeliner, add a black beauty mark beneath right eye as shown. 11. Using dark-tone eyelash glue, apply heavy false demi-lashes from center of upper eyelash line, slanting outward and upward toward outer end of eyebrow. 12. Line inside of eyelids, from center of eye outward with midnight blue eye pencil. 13. Apply dark red lip-liner, fill in with blood red lipstick. Blot. Add clear lip gloss in center of bottom lip only. Elvira Showpage

Events In The SF Area During Oct, Nov.Jan

Here, in the “Bay Area” we are so lucky…to have tg events. Of course, for Halloween…there are many parties. This is an excellent time for any CD who is shy, to go into a retail store and get help with makeup or clothing….:Oh, its for a Halloween Party…right! Next, we have The Cotillion in Jan, put on by TGSF which has a pageant and dinner. Be sure and check the TGSF website for all the events coming up in the next few months! Have fun!

Straight Leg Pants Or Boot Cut?

 

 

I have several emails asking about the new straight leg pants and if they work well… for the tg frame. I like these new pants, expecially with boots, and I have put them on several of my clients with long sweaters, tunic tops, with both medium length jackets and longer jackets..and  my clients look fabulous in them. All of you have great legs, so these new tight/straight length pants will show off those fabulous legs! If you’re over 6 feet and if you have large shoulders…the boot cut pants would help even out your figure.  However, everyone should try them on and see hw you look in them, try them with boots and long jackets/sweaters and pull in at your waist with a very fitted belt. Instant hips! Also, the straight leg looks great in… jeans!

 The best news…is the new arm length… in many of this years jackets. They are three quarter length arms and for many of you taller ladies, this is a great problem solver.

Fall 08 Coat

Hello to Linda, thank you for your question regarding coat lenth for taller women, this year.

Linda, I am also tall…5′9″ and I have found… fitted, “Duster  Coats” (longer coats ending above the knee, not below the knee) look great on tall women. I have put longer coats/jackets/on many of my TG clients, and they look fabulous. A short jacket, just makes the tall woman look like a mushroom. Now, for the curvy look, I like the duster to be fitted OR have a tie belt. I look for a basic color coat, very form fitting..which allows the waist to come in. Loose coats, will not work for most of you. 

 Find the right arm length, and if needed, take to a seamstress and have the waist taken in for the curvy look (small waist and fuller hips). Tall women should avoid double breasted coats which are made of a thick wool, buttons or wide lapels. Again, longer, fitted, and darker colors.

Next, tall women look FABULOUS in long winter boots (right below the knee). Shorter women, generally can’t wear long boots, so… for my taller TG women…let this winter…be your trench coat season with long boots and large sun-glasses.  If you have large or thick thighs, many brands have a second hidden zipper or stretch section on the inside of the boot. I don’t suggest a boot, with very high heels. They are much more difficult to wear for more than a few hours due to the leather pulling around your calf, and the extreme arch on the higher heel. Try  a 1 1′2 inch heel to a 2 1/2  boot heel, for comfort and a look you can wear any and all places!                                                                                  Denae

What Size HandBag Is Best For The TG Woman~ With Larger Shoulders?

The wrong size purse,  for your body type…can be an instant give away for the TG woman. Just as you would consider the style and cut of your clothes, so should you think about the size and shape of your handbag. I find most of my TG clients are taller and many have wider shoulders. Here are my suggestions for the taller TG woman. 

Bags can be used to draw the eyes away from the bits of your body you want to hide, and focus attention on those parts which you consider to be your assets.

TG women with heavy shoulders should avoid carrying short-handled bags that finish around the bust area, as this only serves to accentuate your shoulders more. Go for a longer length finishing around your middle, or a  larger size clutch purse which is carried in your hand. It is best for most TG women to not carry small clutch purses….. under the arm. Clutch purses are fine provided they are oversized.

Try to avoid carrying a tiny bag, as this only serve to make you look bigger. Choose a more tailored bag, which will give definition and go for a medium to large size. 

As a general rule, select a bag shape that is in contrast to your body type. Curvy women who wear med to large hip pads,  would do well to choose a rectangular, longer shape, whereas a tall, willowy, slim figure would be better off going for a slouchy, rounded one. Color is important, and many of the new handbags and shoes are in accent colors now…not just black. I am selecting brown now, as black can be very harsh. Select a black shoe, and add the color in your handbag. Price? If you’re full time, get a good quality leather bag which will blend with a good leather black or brown shoe. And, try the handbags on, in the store…and select the size which looks best of your body style!

Hello All, I am amazed at all of your emails, regarding the link below…showing (with lights attached to females, gender neutral, and male bodies) the different areas that move, when walking.
